So, to say that our challenge hit a stumbling block at the end of last year would be like describing the sea as being a bit salty and wet. I had initially contacted the company who normally organise the Arch to Arc challenge in January 2021 and sent in our form of interest. We were deemed to be likely candidates to be offered a spot and were told that we would hear more in January 2023. I contacted the company in December 2022 to see if any more information was needed only to be told that they were sold out for 2024. We were offered a possible 2026… Emergency trio meetings ensued, do we:

Go for the later date and hope that we don’t suffer an additional deferral, thus rearranging other challenges that might be on the horizon?

We decided that a crucial aspect to the challenge was the channel. So there’s been a change of focus and we’re on to swim the channel in 2024, all booked in as a 3rd on slot in June 2024. The hearts have already begun to quiver…
